We are thrilled to invite you to the Klaman Africa Vibe Festival, a vibrant celebration of African culture and textile art, taking place on Saturday, September 21, at UC San Diego Park & Market.
This year, the Klaman Africa Vibe Festival is proud to be part of the World Design Experience for San Diego Design Week. The theme of this year’s event is “Textile Art, from Africa to the World,” offering an unparalleled opportunity to learn about and discover the universe of African textile art and its global impact over the last 50 years. Enjoy a fashion show showcasing how African textile art has influenced fashion worldwide.
The festival is divided into two segments to cater to all attendees. The family-friendly segment runs from 1 PM to 5 PM, with activities for all ages, including food and retail vendors, arts and crafts, performances and workshops. In the evening, from 7 PM to 10 PM, the adults-only segment offers networking opportunities, finger food, music, a photobooth, a formal fashion show, and a concert featuring performances by the Gene Perry Afro Salsa Jazz Duo and the Afro Latin Jazz Quintet. Ticket prices range from $10 to $80, depending on the segment and type of ticket.
