Join us in welcoming Kevin Merida, Los Angeles Times Executive Editor & Donna Britt, author and Washington Post syndicated columnist, for a lively conversation on Monday, October 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the new downtown building UC San Diego Park & Market (1100 Park Blvd, San Diego).
Kevin Merida is a journalist, author and newspaper editor. He currently serves as executive editor at the Los Angeles Times, where he oversees and coordinates all news gathering operations. He is the former editor of ESPN’s The Undefeated and was managing editor of The Washington Post. Donna Britt is an author and former syndicated newspaper columnist, reporter and critic. Her first book, Brothers (& me): A Memoir of Loving and Giving, was published in 2011, and was a top pick by O: The Oprah Magazine. The Huffington Post listed them as one of the top African American Power Couples.
This event is supported by the UC San Diego Helen Edison Lecture Series which offers free public lectures that advance humanitarian purposes and objectives. It will be facilitated by Dean Nelson, award-winning journalist, talented author and journalism professor.
