International designers from more than 30 countries will showcase their powerful imagery using poster art to express strong opposition to the ongoing war in Ukraine beginning Nov. 16 through Dec. 31 at UC San Diego Park & Market.
Initiated and funded by Graphis, an international publisher of awards and books honoring excellence in the visual communications industry, and in partnership locally with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) San Diego Tijuana chapter, the exhibition is an extravagant presentation featuring 60 print posters and a video display of the more than 350 submitted pieces of art. AIGA San Diego was chosen by Graphis to be the first city in the world to showcase this exhibit. A collection catalog along with select exhibition posters and signed limited editions will be available for sale. Proceeds support Ukraine humanitarian aid through José Andres’World Central Kitchen and International Relief Teams.
“Graphis is proud to bring the voice of our global design community together in opposition to this unprovoked invasion and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine,” said B. Martin Pedersen, CEO of Graphis. “Through the messages relayed in these posters, we hope to present a united front against the war and share a deep commitment to human values and support the victims of Ukraine.”
Free and open to the public, you can visit Park & Market‘s second floor gallery area to view the artwork and learn more.
